Orbital-Wise Decomposition of Magnetic Compton Profiles in Ferromagnetic Uranium Compound

It is demonstrated that the magnetic Compton profile of ferromagnetic UGe2 is decomposed into partial profiles which are calculated from U 5f atomic wavefunctions with different magnetic quantum numbers, m's. This decomposition shows that the m = -3 and m = -2 states dominate the total spin moment of this ferromagnetic compound, and the magnetic properties estimated from the decomposition results are favorably compared with theoretical predictions and other experimental observations.
