Soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) has been measured for ferromagnetic uranium monochalcogenides UXc (Xc = S, Se and Te) and UFe2. By applying the orbital and spin sum rules to the XMCD results, some trend has been found for the relationship between the ratio µLS and the total magnetic moment.
