Soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) has been measured for ferromagnetic uranium monochalcogenides UXc (Xc = S, Se and Te) and UFe2. By applying the orbital and spin sum rules to the XMCD results, some trend has been found for the relationship between the ratio µL/µS and the total magnetic moment.
